Youth Ministry Summer Intern; (30 hours paid internship)

Wedowee First United Methodist will be accepting resumes for a Youth Ministry Summer intern to work for 8-9 weeks, June and July of 2013. Intern must be a college student (sophomore and above preferred) with good communication and people skills, creative, high energy, able to work well with others and enjoy leading youth.; This individual will work with the pastor and the Youth Ministry team to coordinate, plan and implement week day and weekend youth events, bible studies, fund-raisers, and worship. Intern will be available for 30-32 hours weekly with two days off per week and be available from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays. Intern will be provided room and board with a host family in the community. Intern will also participate in the Youth Mission Trip July 14-20, 2013.

Intern will also be available to engage with youth in the community through special events.
Intern will follow all Safe Sanctuaries guidelines and be trained in Safe Sanctuary policies and procedures. Intern will meet formally with the pastor at least once per week.;
Intern must have a valid driver’s license, his or her own transportation, and willing to submit to a criminal background check. Intern will be evaluated at mid-term and at the end of the 8-9 week employment.

Salary: $200 per week

Duties and Responsibilities

*Works with the pastor and Youth Ministry Team to coordinate and implement weekly events (at least one big event per week, and two field trips during the 8 week period).;
