Advising Tools for Faculty

The Career Services Office works collaboratively with faculty in providing effective career advising to students. This partnership helps to enhance the process by which students apply their solid liberal arts education to real world opportunities in today’s job market. Through comprehensive career planning students learn to expand their education beyond the classroom and extend their experience beyond the degree.

Career Action Plan

The Career Action Plan is a handy checklist of suggested activities that assists students in tracking the progress of their college to career transition. Students begin in the Discovery phase, in which they assess their personality and expose themselves to new experiences. In the Exploration phase, students investigate their options and gather valuable information. In the Preparation phase, students conduct research and start gaining relevant experience. The final phase is the Strategy phase, in which students organize their resources and learn to manage their campaign.

Partnership with Faculty

The Career Services Office seeks to create mutually beneficial partnerships and creative collaborations with the faculty in the various academic areas on campus. Please let us know how we can be of service to you and your students. We offer a variety of tools and resources related to career planning, career assessment, career exploration, goal setting, graduate school preparation, job market trends and realities, workplace issues, professional behavior, job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation.
