About the Annual Fund
The BSC Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is an unrestricted source of funding that supports the day-to-day expenses of the college. Without a successful Annual Fund, BSC would not be able to offer scholarships to attract the most talented students or salaries to hire and keep the most gifted professors and staff. Wonderful, life-changing learning takes place on the Hilltop each day. The Annual Fund invites you to be a part of it through giving.
Every Gift Makes a Difference
The Annual Fund is not a capital campaign; it's an annual commitment. As an alum, your gift will also affect the alumni giving percentage. In the eyes of large foundation and corporation grant donors, this important number acts as an indicator of alumni satisfaction. A gift of any size from an alum will raise the alumni giving percentage, thus putting BSC in a better position to obtain necessary grants.
Help Bsc Move Forward, Ever
From the beginning, General Krulak has refused to look back. “We steer by the stars, not by our wake,” he often says. The Annual Fund plays an important role in securing the college’s future. With the support of the Annual Fund, BSC students will graduate ready to positively impact the world through law, medicine, art, science, business, and education, just as ‘Southern alumni always have.
Annual Fund 2011
Our most recent fiscal year was a huge success. The Annual Fund raised an unprecedented $2,047,376 with an alumni giving percentage of 34%. The Annual Fund grew by 67% and the alumni giving percentage increased by six percentage points. This growth would not be possible without the phenomenal support of BSC’s alumni, parents, and friends and the positive momentum created by the Greek Battle and the BSC Family Challenge. The Annual Fund’s goals for 2012 will include raising $2 million again and increasing the alumni giving percentage to 40%. Sustaining the growth and energy of 2011 will be the key to achieving next year’s goals.
