I thoroughly enjoyed my college years pursuing a degree in Art History at Birmingham-Southern. Now that I’ve graduated, I am thrilled to begin my post-graduate career here as an Admission Counselor! I feel called to continue serving the BSC community by helping prospective students to discover whether our school is the “right fit” for them. Please consider me a resource as you have questions about Birmingham-Southern or the college application process. I look forward to getting to know you, and I can’t wait to share my Birmingham-Southern stories and experiences with you as you embark on the exciting journey of finding your home-away-from-home for the next four years!

It’s my second year to be a counselor and I am so proud to call myself a member of the amazing Birmingham-Southern family. After graduating from undergrad in December 2009, I spent two years working in the music business in Nashville until I felt called to return home to my native Birmingham. I treasure my liberal arts education experience and I get so much joy sharing my experiences and the outstanding qualities of BSC in order to help students find a place to spend, what I call, “the best 4 years of your life.”

It is hard to believe that I have been back at my alma mater working with fabulous seniors and their parents for over 3 years. I graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2009 and I couldn’t have had a better college experience. As the Assistant Director of Admission, I have the pleasure of not only working with prospective students, but I also work closely with alumni who are dying to reach out to you and others in search of the “right fit” to tell their BSC stories. I do try to have a life outside of work…it consists of reading, cooking, and trying to squeeze in some healthy activity! Please reach out to me if you have questions about Birmingham-Southern or the application process, and lean on me as a resource during this adventure known as the college search!

As a recent graduate of BSC, I could not be more thrilled to help carry on our legacy as a member of the Admission staff!  I enjoy keeping my days filled with activity. If I’m not at the office, you’re most likely to find me out running at Railroad Park, taking in a Baron’s baseball game or headed to one of our awesome local eateries to catch up with friends. I loved my time here at BSC and I can’t wait to share my experiences and all that my college has to offer with students and their families!

I am a proud graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, with a B.A. in Theatre Arts. I have loved working in professional theatre from here to Boston and am currently creating new works here in my hometown of Birmingham. I've had the joy of living in four states and three countries—including three and a half years in China—but I've always come home to this wonderful city. As the International Admission Counselor here on the Hilltop, I have the pleasure of getting to know students from right next door as well as those from around the world and helping them explore all of the possibilities for their future here at BSC. I enjoy traveling (whether in Nashville, New Delhi, or Nanjing!), exercising, and spending time with my fantastic family and friends.

Birmingham-Southern College felt like home to me from the moment I stepped on campus as an undergraduate in the fall of 2008. I look forward to working with high school students across the nation and helping them find a home here as well. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and watching Braves baseball. This is such an exciting time in your life, and I can't wait to be a small part of it!

Birmingham-Southern has been home to me from the time I was a college student until today, and that's a long time! I graduated from BSC in 1985 and immediately went to work in the admission office recruiting students. Today, as Associate Vice President for Admission, I am blessed to work so closely with all the college's admission professionals. I also was known to play some tennis back in the day, and sing a little too! I now spend all of my available time at ballparks or gyms watching my children compete in sports . I work with students who are interested in transferring to Birmingham-Southern from Community College or other 4 year institutions. I would love to meet you and hope you will visit us soon and see our beautiful campus and experience our wonderful people. If you have questions about BSC, the admission process, or about any of our staff, please feel free to contact me by email at ssalmon@bsc.edu or by phone at (205) 226-4692.

Attending Birmingham-Southern is a long-standing tradition in my family. My father arrived at Birmingham-Southern in 1950, I followed some years later. Last fall, my daughter also chose this special place to be her college home.  I’ve been a part of the Admission Staff for over 15 years and currently serve as the Director of Admission. In this role, I have the opportunity to work with a dynamic staff and students from Mountain Brook and Homewood High Schools. My husband is also a BSC graduate and we never miss a home football game. You’ll see our silver bullet Airstream trailer overlooking the stadium and the aroma of smokey barbecue will lead you to our door! I can’t wait to meet you and share with you the community of caring and supporting faculty that led my father to this place over 70 years ago and continues to draw students today.  If you have questions about BSC or the college admission process, email me at jwaters@bsc.edu or call me at (205) 226-4653.

Living full time in Atlanta, I currently serve as the Regional Representative for the state of Georgia. I joined the Birmingham-Southern community in 2010, and I am constantly amazed by the close relationships that our students have with faculty and by all of the unique research, travel, and internship opportunities that exist on our campus. Our students are having such an incredible college experience! I can't wait to share my enthusiasm for life on the Hilltop, and I look forward to helping prospective students learn more about what makes Birmingham-Southern such a special place.

In my spare time, I volunteer with several organizations throughout the Atlanta Metro Area. I also enjoy traveling with my husband to new places, trying out fun recipe ideas, and playing with my beloved rescue dog, "Abbey." I am happy to answer all of your questions about BSC and the admission process; please email me at ezuccher@bsc.edu.
