I'm happy to continue to call the Hilltop my home for the sixth year in a row! After four years of pursuing a degree in art history, I graduated from BSC in May 2013 and immediately joined the admission office. Working with high school students during the college search is exciting, energizing, and unbelievably rewarding. I'm so thrilled to meet you and serve as a resource as you navigate one of the biggest decisions of your life. You are embarking on a journey that will lead you to find your home away from home for the next four years. It's my hope that you will find that home here at Birmingham-Southern! When I'm away from the office, I enjoy traveling, exploring all the culture and great food that Birmingham has to offer, and playing mom to my sweet cat, Olive.

I'm a proud graduate of Birmingham-Southern College. During my four years, I kept a busy schedule as a theatre major with a minor in business, a Resident Advisor, and a member of the Hilltop Singers. I firmly believe that 'Southern is the place to explore ALL of your dreams! After working in the Arts for the past three years, I'm thrilled to join the BSC admission team and hit the road to counsel students from Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, South Carolina and many Alabama cities as they take the next steps in their education. Outside of my work in admission, I find time to continue my passion for theatre through acting with local Birmingham companies and shooting a few commercials. I love going to concerts, shows and movies, learning new dances, trying new vegetarian foods, exploring in the sunshine, hanging out with friends, and cuddling my cat. If you have any questions or if you would to hear more about BSC, feel free to call me at 205-226-4681 or email me at jcrensha@bsc.edu.

Birmingham-Southern College holds a special place in my heart because it is where I grew into the person I am today. After graduating from BSC, I took my liberal arts education and left the South to earn a Master of Science degree in International Relations at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. While living abroad, I continually found myself drawn back to the school and city I called home. As a first-year counselor, I am incredibly honored to once again serve my school and its mission. I am thrilled to help students from Montgomery, Louisiana, and from my home region of the American Southwest find that place they will call home, one I know will help prepare them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

As I enter my third year as a member of the BSC admission staff, I am reminded of how lucky I am to be a part of the Birmingham-Southern family! After graduating from Belmont University in 2009, I spent two years working in the music industry in Nashville before feeling called to return to my native Birmingham. I love this city, and I'm proud to call it home. It's so exhilarating watching the progress of our downtown revitalization each time I go for a walk in Railroad Park, enjoy a delicious meal at a new restaurant, or see my favorite musicians hit the stage at Workplay or Iron City. BSC students are lucky to claim such a fun city to work and play in! So if you're just beginning your college search, welcome! I get stressed out just thinking about my journey to making my college decision! Knowing first-hand the perils, it's truly a pleasure to help students avoid (or at least manage) the anxieties of finding a place to spend, what I call, "the best 4 years of your life."

I bleed black and gold. From a college cheerleader to an Admission Counselor, I can't help but say "Go Panthers" when others say "Roll Tide" or "War Eagle!" It brings me great joy to work with high school students, their families, and counselors. I especially enjoy introducing families to the food culture in Birmingham! Need a great BBQ restaurant? I'm your guy! I spent many hours in the service-learning office as a student. Those experiences led me to spend a year working in the Black Belt region of Alabama after graduating in 2013. My life outside of work includes hiking at Ruffner Mountain, live music at Railroad Park, and BBQ. Please contact me with any questions at clovelad@bsc.edu!

Assistant Director of International Admission

I am a proud graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, with a B.A. in Theatre Arts. I have loved working in professional theatre from here to Boston and am currently creating new works here in my hometown of Birmingham. I've had the joy of living in four states and three countries—including three and a half years in China—but I've always come home to this wonderful city. As the International Admission Counselor here on the Hilltop, I have the pleasure of getting to know students from right next door as well as those from around the world and helping them explore all the possibilities for their future at BSC. I enjoy traveling (whether in Nashville, New Delhi, or Nanjing!), exercising, and spending time with my fantastic family and friends.

I am very fortunate to be a part of the Birmingham-Southern family of students, faculty, and staff. After completing my undergraduate studies in 2013, I spent a year working in executive recruiting and at a non-profit. I am a food connoisseur and football fanatic, which are just a couple of the reasons I enjoy calling Birmingham home. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with students to help them through the process of finding a college. Birmingham-Southern is an amazing community and I'd love to tell you more about why it should be the next place you call home. Feel free to email at aroper@bsc.edu or call me at (205) 226-4673.

As a '13 Alum, I feel so blessed to be back on the Hilltop getting to share more about BSC and all it has to offer to high school seniors! I graduated with a Business Administration Major and Dance and Art Minor, and I couldn't have had a better college experience. I have the pleasure of not only working with prospective students in Huntsville, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Memphis, TN, but I also work closely with alumni who are passionate about reaching out to you and others in search of the "right fit" to tell their BSC stories. Please reach out to me if you have questions about Birmingham-Southern or the application process, and lean on me as a resource during this adventure known as the college search! I can't wait to get to know you and be a part of this exciting time in your life!

Attending Birmingham-Southern is a long-standing tradition in my family. My father arrived at Birmingham-Southern in 1950, I followed some years later. Last fall, my daughter also chose this special place to be her college home.  I’ve been a part of the Admission Staff for over 15 years and currently serve as the Director of Admission. In this role, I have the opportunity to work with a dynamic staff and students from Mountain Brook and Homewood High Schools. My husband is also a BSC graduate and we never miss a home football game. You’ll see our silver bullet Airstream trailer overlooking the stadium and the aroma of smokey barbecue will lead you to our door! I can’t wait to meet you and share with you the community of caring and supporting faculty that led my father to this place over 70 years ago and continues to draw students today.  If you have questions about BSC or the college admission process, email me at jwaters@bsc.edu or call me at (205) 226-4653.

Assistant Director of Georgia Regional Admission

Living full time in Atlanta, I currently serve as the Regional Representative for the state of Georgia. I joined the Birmingham-Southern community in 2010, and I am constantly amazed by the close relationships that our students have with faculty and by all of the unique research, travel, and internship opportunities that exist on our campus. Our students are having such an incredible college experience! I can't wait to share my enthusiasm for life on the Hilltop, and I look forward to helping prospective students learn more about what makes Birmingham-Southern such a special place.

In my spare time, I volunteer with several organizations throughout the Atlanta Metro Area. I also enjoy traveling with my husband to new places, trying out fun recipe ideas, and playing with my beloved rescue dog, "Abbey." I am happy to answer all of your questions about BSC and the admission process; please email me at ezuccher@bsc.edu.
