BSC Programs Abroad

Study Abroad in Amsterdam

"I loved the people that I met, the places that I saw, the things that I did. I had so much freedom to learn about other people and myself. I realized how misplaced some of my energies are while at home and am now able to refocus my energies on things that I see are truly important in life."
-Claire Anderson, studied pre-health courses in Ireland for the semester and travelled across Europe.

BSC students have access to a variety of program types that meet their academic and personal goals.  Choosing a program or university is an exciting part of the study abroad experience.  The Sklenar Center staff looks forward to talking with you about your overseas plans:

Study Abroad Program Options

  1. BSC Exchange Programs - include tuition and full exchange university programs options available through BSC.
  2. BSC Partner Programs - constitute all affiliated universities overseas and N. American partner institutions that offer a variety of study abroad options in countries worldwide during all academic terms.
  3. Faculty-led & Consortium Affiliated Programs - provide students with opportunities to travel overseas with BSC faculty or to travel with students and faculty from universities within our academic consortium.

Planning ahead makes everything about overseas study easier. Below are important issues to consider as you decide which study abroad program to choose:

  • Meet with a Sklenar Center staff member or peer advisor.
  • Talk with your academic advisor to plan the courses you can take overseas.
  • Apply for study abroad scholarships. Some scholarship deadlines are posted a year in advance of travel so early planning is essential. Contact the Sklenar Center for more information.
  • Consider including an internship, research opportunity or service-learning component to your studies abroad.

Self-enroll in the "Global Opportunities" informational site on Moodle for detailed information about study abroad program options, scholarships, checklists, internships, research and service-learning experiences overseas.
