  1. Teach in Japan
    This program offers an opportunity to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the sister cities of Hitachi and Birmingham through teaching English as a foreign language. The position of Assistant English Teacher consultant is open to BSC graduating seniors. (AETs are employed on a 2 year contractual basis. Click here for more information.

  2. Teach in Hungary
    All graduating seniors are eligible to apply for an instructor position teaching English as a Foreign Language and American Culture at secondary schools in our sister city, Szekesfehervar, Hungary. Contact Dr. Ed LaMonte, Emeritus Director of Sklenar Center, for application information at (elamonte@bsc.edu). Deadline for submitting materials is the third Wednesday in February.

  5. Teach/Study in Spain
    The institute for North American Studies of the Universidad de Alcalá (IUIEN-UAH), Spain, offers students the unique opportunity of participating in the "Teach and Learn in Spain Study Program" and receive a scholarship to study a "Máster en Enseñanza de la Lengua, Literatura y Cultura en el Mundo Hispánico" or a "Master in Bilingual and Multicultural Education."
