Academic Departments and Programs
Consistently recognized nationally for its academic quality and value, Birmingham-Southern is a distinctive leader in a liberal arts education. In BSC's 4-1-4 academic calendar, students enroll in four classes in the fall semester, one during the January Exploration Term, and four in the spring. The college currently offers five bachelor's degrees in more than 50 programs of study, as well as interdisciplinary and specially individualized majors and dual degree programs. Our innovative Explorations curriculum expands BSC's liberal arts mission even further to address the talents and skills students will need to be successful in an increasingly complex and technological society.
