From its beginnings as the Birmingham Conservatory of Music in the city's early years, music at Birmingham-Southern College has focused on excellence. The music program has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1934.
The faculty offer the Bachelor of Music degree in performance, composition, and sacred music; the Bachelor of Music Education degree; and the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major or minor in music.
