The BSC Summer Filmmaking Workshop for High School Students is an introduction to the fundamentals of video pre-production, production, and post-production. Working in small groups, you will develop a story and use high definition cameras to shoot and Final Cut Pro to edit your film. The course will combine lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises for an intensive, fun learning experience. You will leave the class with a DVD of your own work and the knowledge to make movies from beginning to end.
No previous filmmaking experience is required.

Instructor: Dr. David Resha is an assistant professor of Film and Media Studies at Birmingham-Southern College. Dr. Resha received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has ten years experience teaching filmmaking. Dr. Resha has also made his own films and has published about filmmaking.
Refund Policy: If the registration office receives your notice of withdrawal at least seven days before the program begins, the fee is refunded, minus a $30 administrative fee.
