Honors Program

Admission/Contact Information

Students wishing to become scholars in Birmingham-Southern's Donald C. Harrison Honors Program need to apply separately to the College and to the Program.  The College's online application form can be accessed at the BSC Admission site. Remember to indicate interest in the Harrison Honors Program in the space provided on the application.

Application material for the Harrison Honors Program can be downloaded from these links: application and recommendation form.  The application form, an essay, and two references are required.  Applicants should give special attention to the essay; the quality of a student's writing and the engagement expressed in the essay are important.

There is no definitive deadline for application, but applications received by 1 December will be evaluated by the end of the following January.  After that, applications are reviewed monthly until spaces in the incoming class are filled.  Students are encouraged to apply by the end of March.  Final acceptance into the Program is contingent upon acceptance by the College.
