Community Organizations

Welcome to the Office of Service-Learning at Birmingham-Southern College! Our goal is to help students expand their education by offering them opportunities to learn more about themselves, their community, and the world around them through service. We maintain several student-initiated and student-coordinated Ongoing Partnerships with various area schools, as well as organizations like Meals on Wheels and IMPACT Alabama.

While we try to encourage students to participate in these projects in order to strengthen our ongoing relationships with these organizations, we often have students whose interests lie in other areas. For this reason, we like to keep an up-to-date listing of volunteer opportunities throughout our area.

If you are interested in being included in this listing, please print out the Service-Learning OpportunityForm (it is a PDF file, you’ll need Adobe Acrobat to read it), fill it out, and fax or mail it back to us. We will include your listing in our weekly email newsletter to students; it will also go into our notebook of volunteer opportunities.

Keep in mind that inclusion in our database does not guarantee that you will receive volunteer inquiries from BSC students. We appreciate your interest in our program and look forward to hearing from you!
