Leadership Studies Junior Year Practicum
The Practicum will explore the knowledge, values, and practices needed by a civically responsible citizen. Bi-weekly sessions will examine political and economic issues that impact social concerns, how advocacy efforts can affect change, and the role of the citizen in a democratic society. Guest speakers will include directors of nonprofit organizations, legislators, lobbyists, and administrators of community foundations.

Required of all Distinction in Leadership Studies students in junior year

Prerequisite for LS400

Group project on current local and statewide community projects

Completion of final presentation on civic engagement required

Bi-weekly meetings for for seven sessions
