The First-Year Leadership Challenge helps students identify their leadership role at BSC. A joint effort between the Office of Student Development and the Hess Center for Leadership and Service, the Challenge combines leadership exercises with structured reflection. Open to all first-year students and transfers in their first year, the program provides a blueprint of skills for maximizing leadership potential. Whether you are already involved on campus or hoping to become more engaged, the First-Year Leadership Challenge can help you identify your leadership strengths.
Formerly known as LEAD, the program examines the Student Leadership Challenge: Five Practices for Exemplary Leaders by James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner and includes a weekend retreat, team-building activities, and fun leadership simulations.
Faculty, staff, and upper class students nominate students to participate. Nominees complete a short online registration form available here. Registration forms are due on Monday, February 13, 2012.
