The BSC Fine Arts Society

enriching the arts experiences of BSC students and faculty

Be part of the arts at 'Southern – Join the Fine Arts Society

For over 36 years, the Fine Arts Society has provided support to Birmingham-Southern College’s visual and performing arts programs. Fine Arts Society members are ticket subscribers, creating an audience for theatre, dance, music, and arts productions and exhibitions. They are volunteers, assisting with hospitality for patrons, students, and visiting performers. They are donors, funding visits by guest artists and fulfilling department needs. They are messengers to the greater Birmingham community, promoting the thriving fine and performing arts program at BSC. Just in the past year, the Fine Arts Society has helped the students and faculty in tangible ways, such as:

• Provided stipends for a guest choreographer and visiting art critic

• Installed new lighting and resurfaced the Durbin Gallery walls

• Provided a television and DVD player for a theatre classroom

• Provided orchestra score and parts for Whittington Competition student winners

• Funded Honors Day awards to noteworthy arts students

• Hosted receptions for art openings and student and faculty performances

With your support, the Fine Arts Society encourages BSC’s liberal arts students to truly pursue the fine and performing arts in their education.
