Brief Career Background:

Carol has a thirty year career in the field of education with an emphasis on serving students with special needs. She has been a teacher of students with special needs in several school systems and has most recently served as the Director of Special Education for Mountain Brook Schools. During the last two years she provided consulting services for the Alabama State Department of Education and Educational Training, Inc. She has been an adjunct professor in the College of Education at the University of Alabama Birmingham.

Educational Background:

Carol earned her undergraduate degree, as well as her Master's of Education degree from Auburn University in the area of special education with an emphasis on learning disabilities. Post graduate work was done at University of Alabama Birmingham.

Areas of Academic Interest:

Carol's primary interest is training teachers to work collaboratively to meet the needs of all learners in today's schools. Her belief is that students with special needs can learn best when they are successfully integrated into the general education environment.
