Brief Career Background:

After graduate school at Alabama, I taught for seven years at Erskine College in South Carolina. Since coming to BSC in 1986, I have broadened my professional interests to include Latin America and Hispanics in the United States. I have participated in several Service-Learning trips to Latin America and have taken groups of BSC students to Cuba and to Argentina during Interim. I have received three Fulbright-Hays awards for summer seminars in Latin America and in recent years have served as a Reader for Fulbright-Hays applications. I have also served for many years as a Reader for Advanced Placement (AP) exams in Spanish.
