Brief Career Background:

Mrs. Russell served as a classroom teacher in the Alabama Public School System for seven years. She has teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and served as adjunct faculty there for the past three years. She has also taught and supervised student interns for Athens State University.

EPY 223 Human Growth and Development
Theories of human growth and development to help students understand the mental, social, and emotional patterns of development from conception to late adulthood. Laboratory required. Fall, Spring.

ED 317 Teaching Social Studies
Provides teacher candidates with philosophy, content knowledge, techniques, and materials to assist them in the teaching of social studies in grades K-6. Responsible citizenship and the importance of multi-cultural education is stressed. Attention will be given to teaching children with special needs. Laboratory required. Prerequisite: admission to Teacher Education Program. Fall.
