Brief Career Background:

Teddy Champion is a native of Florence, Alabama, and has served as an assistant professor at Samford University and the University of Southern Mississippi, teaching courses in film production and media studies. Teddy has over 15 years of experience as a film producer, documentary producer, production manager and location sound recordist for clients such as A&E, BBC, CMT, Discovery Channel, E! News, History Channel, National Geographic Channel, NBC and VH. In 2003 he earned an MFA in film directing and screenwriting from Columbia University, and in 2016 he received a PhD at the University of Alabama where his dissertation focused on working-class southerners in modern reality television. His current area of research involves media and entertainment history, with a particular interest in the South and southern content in film and television.
