Research Interests:

My overarching research objective is to address psychological and physical challenges confronted by older adults and their families as they approach the end of life. My research is primarily applied and spans the end of life continuum from before end-of-life, to near end-of-life and, more recently, during bereavement. My prior research has focused on individual and group differences in advance care planning and life-sustaining treatment preferences, prognostication tools utilized in Medicare-certified hospice and palliative care organizations, and predictors of bereavement outcomes among former hospice caregivers. I have published in journals such as Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, Stroke, and Aging & Mental Health and a co-authored book chapter in the Annual Review of Gerontology and Geriatrics.
