From awareness to learning to practice, students discover that sustainability has many forms. A strong commitment from faculty, staff and administration to seek sustainable practices at BSC has produced the Urban Environmental Studies program, real-world ‘green’ internships for students, a local environmental education web site TrekBirmingham and green initiatives from the administration and general officers. Turkey Creek Nature Preserve

BSC Ecoscape: One of Many Recycled Urban Parks
Since 1996, the SEC has transformed 12 vacant/blighted urban lots into ecological landscapes called EcoScapes. Filled with native plants and cool sculpture works, each park functions as an outdoor classroom for nearby schools, and as a community gathering place. Learn more...

LEED Certified Residence Halls
