Classics studies Greco-Roman antiquity from prehistory to the end of the Roman Empire

drawing on a variety of fields, including language and literature, history, art history,

philosophy, religion, and anthropology. By studying classical material, one gains an

understanding and appreciation of ancient cultures that continue to influence our own,

and the ability to synthesize materials, providing students with an intellectual foundation

leading to graduate work in a variety of fields.

In the workplace of the future, conceptual awareness of and practical facility with

technology will continue to grow in importance. The major in creative and applied

computing provides graduates with an understanding not only of the fundamentals of
