Master of Arts in Public and Private Managemen

About the program

The MPPM focuses on an integrated learning experience that builds on sound management foundations, but goes beyond the typical executive management graduate program.

The MPPM program consists of sixteen courses which can be completed in two years. Up to five years are allowed, if necessary.

You will begin the program with the signature course, "Perspectives on Management," a year-long experience that focuses on critical success factors which have been identified as essential for effective leadership.

Unique to the core curriculum of the MPPM program is "Humanist Perspectives on Management," emphasizing the perspectives of the humanities or the arts and including such subjects as ethics, the role of the arts in the community, communication and persuasion in executive decision-making, dealing with change and ambiguity, cross-cultural studies, and the impact of technology on society.

The foundation course, "Ethics and Managerial Choice," has been specifically developed for the MPPM program. The course brings analytical and conceptual tools of philosophical ethics to major organizational issues.

Toward the conclusion of the program, you will complete an integrative, practical learning experience such as a management internship, consultancy, or thesis. Through this experience, you will connect your learning and apply it to produce a tangible outcome.
