Department of Business and Accounting

In the Department of Business and Accounting, liberal arts education is integrated into each field of study. The goal of integrating the liberal arts is accomplished through the pursuit of academic inquiry and the examination of the practical side of business and other organizations. In addition, the faculty is committed to teaching and advising. Enrichment of and continuous improvement in teaching and advising are sought through professional development and scholarship. The learning environment is designed to meet the needs of undergraduate and graduate students to enable them to become broadly educated professionals, equipped to excel as leaders in academic, private enterprise, public service or civic endeavors.

Birmingham-Southern College’s Division of Business & Graduate Programs will be a premier learning center, within the liberal arts tradition, that provides nationally recognized courses of study. The division will be dedicated to fostering a supportive intellectual environment that nurtures the development of students and faculty.
