Department Chair: Dr. Stephen Craft

The Department of Business and Accounting at Birmingham-Southern offers two major programs: A bachelor’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in accounting. In addition, the department recently has introduced a Business Disciplinary Honors Program in international business available to outstanding business administration majors.

The programs offered in the Department of Business and Accounting are taught in the context of the student’s broader liberal arts education. The integration of the liberal arts into each student’s professional field of education makes for a stronger program that allows students to become broadly educated professionals, equipped to excel as leaders in academia, private enterprise, public service, or civic endeavors.

AACSB International, the senior accrediting body for programs in business, accredits programs in the Department of Business and Accounting. This means that our faculty members continuously meet the highest national and international standards as teachers and scholars in the business field.
