The BSC Writing Center is committed to improving student writing across the curriculum. Our Writing Consultants provide support for students in every stage of the writing process, from generating ideas and writing initial drafts to revising and editing their own work. Students of every skill level are welcome at the Center.

It is important to understand that the Writing Center is not a "fix-it" shop, and we do not "correct" papers. Nor is it primarily a remedial program. Its mission is to help students at all levels improve their writing skills. Writing Consultants will not discuss the merit of assignments, past or future grades, or instructors' teaching styles. The focus of consultations is the process of writing the assigmnent at hand, and student clients are expected to arrive at the Center with a clear idea of what their needs are. Student clients who want help with the draft of a paper must bring a hard copy of that draft with them.

Walk-in conferences are welcome, but in order to be sure that a Writing Consultant is free, we recommend making an appointment through our online system, tutortrac, which may be found at this link:
