Information for Non-Majors
Recommended courses and advice for non-majors. The psychology faculty recommends that non-majors enroll in PY 101 Introduction to Psychology, PY 207 Psychology of Motivation, PY 217 Drugs, Brain, and Behavior, PY 225 Creativity: Person, Process, Place, or PY 230 Cross-Cultural Psychology.
Information for Majors
Advice for majors. The psychology faculty recommends that majors in psychology take PY 101 Introduction to Psychology as early as possible. PY 204 and PY 304, the statistics and research methods sequence, should be taken in the sophomore year if possible, but no later than the junior year.
Explorations curriculum requirement in Connectivity. All students must complete a scholarly senior seminar, Exploration term, or independent study as deemed appropriate by disciplinary faculty in the major. Psychology satisfies this requirement through two senior seminar units (from PY 410, 417, 450, or 497).
All majors at the College require a senior conference. Psychology satisfies this requirement through the public presentation of student scholarship completed in the senior seminar.
