Information for Non-Majors
Recommended courses and advice for non-majors. The history faculty recommends that non-majors enroll in 100- or 200-level history courses.
Information for Majors
Advice for majors. History majors, especially those considering graduate study in history, are encouraged to develop a degree of competence in one or more foreign languages and to use this competence in their historical reading and research.
Explorations curriculum requirement in Connectivity. All students must complete a scholarly senior seminar, Exploration term, or independent study as deemed appropriate by disciplinary faculty in the major. History satisfies this requirement through HI 470 Senior Research Symposium.
All majors at the College require a senior conference. Students in history will present their historical research publicly as part of the senior research symposium.
