Information for Non-Majors
Recommended courses and advice for non-majors. The biology faculty recommend that non-science majors enroll in BI 101 Explorations in Biology, BI 103 Introduction to Forensic Science: Using Science to Solve Crimes, or BI 149 Cancer: Biology and Beyond.
Pre-health students and students who plan to major in one of the natural sciences are encouraged to enroll in BI 115 Organismal Biology.
Information for Majors
Explorations curriculum requirement in Connectivity. All students must complete a scholarly senior seminar, Exploration term, or independent study as deemed appropriate by disciplinary faculty in the major. Biology satisfies this requirement through two units in one of the following sequences: BI 470 and 472, or BI 470 and 499.
All majors at the College require a senior conference. Biology satisfies this requirement through the presentation of student research at the Science and Mathematics Senior Conference.
