Resolution of the Faculty Monday, 12 May 2003
The faculty of Birmingham-Southern College endorses the 8 May 2003 draft of the Faculty
handbook with preference for the following:
The reinstatement of monetary amounts cited in section
III.B.7.j Terminal
of the 1998 handbook as the salary compensations cited in section
III.B.7.j Compensation Upon Termination for Cause
in the 2003 handbook.
Formal endorsement by the Board of Trustees of the “1940 Statement of Principles
on Academic Freedom and Tenure With 1970 Interpretive Comments” from
Statements and Reports” of The American Association of University Professors
). The College has already
endorsed the “1940 Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure.”
For purposes of promotion and tenure, librarians should be considered under the same
procedures as all other faculty members with terminal degrees.

in the Faculty Handbook.)
