Striplin Fitness and Recreation Center

The Larry D. Striplin, Jr. Physical Fitness and Recreation Center is located at the right side of the Bruno Entrance Drive overlooking the baseball field.
Opened in the summer of 1998 at a cost of $8 million, the innovative facility is home to Birmingham-Southern volleyball as well as the intramural sports and recreation program at BSC. The facility offers weight and cardiovascular equipment, an indoor track, an indoor swimming pool, two basketball and volleyball courts, two racquetball courts, an aerobic studio and locker rooms with showers for both students and student-athletes. The building also houses the offices of the Birmingham-Southern Athletic Department.
This facility is made possible through the generosity of alumnus and trustee Larry Dewitt Striplin, Jr. The workout room includes state-of-the-art Cybex machines, cardiovascular equipment, and free weights, all made possible through the generosity of HealthSouth Corporation.
