Rush Learning Center and N.E. Miles Library
The Charles Andrew Rush Learning Center and N.E. Miles Library houses the college’s library and holdings, as well as an auditorium, study areas, conference rooms, and an electronic classroom.
An integral part of the campus-wide computer network, the Learning Center/Library utilizes up-to-date technology to meet the information needs of students and faculty and support the intellectual life of the campus. In addition to open stacks, the reading areas, individual study carrels, computer work stations, and research study rooms create an excellent environment for study.
Library services are available seven days a week, allowing ample opportunity for use of the substantial resources available. Professional librarians offer personalized assistance, including reference service and bibliographic instruction, to augment the physical resources of the Learning Center/Library. A variety of print and computer-based catalogs and indexes provide access to the Learning Center/Library's collections.
Through a reciprocal borrowing agreement, students and faculty of the college may use libraries of other colleges and universities in the Birmingham area. Excellent interlibrary loan service is available through the Learning Center/Library's participation in a number of state, regional, and national library cooperatives and networks.
