Staff in the Residence Halls

In each hall, Resident Advisors (RAs) serve as mentors, friends, peer counselors, role models, and policy enforcers. As experienced upper class students who have demonstrated leadership skills, RAs strive to build community on their floors and in their buildings to assist students with the transition to college while creating an atmosphere conducive to supporting the academic mission of Birmingham-Southern. RAs are supported by Community Coordinators (CCs) who are also undergraduate students who have served as RAs for at least one year. CCs are liaisons between students, the RA staff, and the Office of Residence Life. CCs also help mediate roommate issues and serve as mentors to the RA staff. Hall Advisors are faculty and staff members or graduate students living in the residence halls. They assist the RAs and CCs in creating social and educational programming for residents in their halls.
