Alexander Friedman, global chief investment officer of UBS Wealth Management and UBS Wealth Management Americas, will present the Stump Entrepreneurship Lecture at BSC on Thursday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. in Bruno Great Hall.

Top members of Class of 2014 named to Phi Beta Kappa
Thirty graduating seniors have been elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest academic honor society, this spring.

Provost's Forum lecture set for Common Hour on Thursday
Dr. Mark Lester, W. Michael Atchison Professor of History, will talk about "The Challenge of Biography: British Prime Minister H.H. Asquith (1852-1928)" on April 24 at 11 a.m. in the Norton Theatre. Lester will discuss the conclusions he has reached about Asquith in writing a full-scale biography of the British statesman, who served from 1908 to 1916.

BSC to host two musical events April 28
The Jazz Band, under the direction of Ben Posey, will perform a concert on Monday at 4 p.m. on the plaza outside the Norton Center, featuring jazz standards, Latin music, and ballroom dance music. That same day, the One-A-Chord Gospel Choir, led by Valerie Harris, will perform a series of uplifting songs and praises at 7 p.m. in the Norton Center's Bruno Great Hall.

College selected to attend AAC&U Summer Institute
The Association of American Colleges and Universities has chosen BSC for the first time to participate in its 2014 Summer Institute, designed to help campuses make institution-wide changes that benefit their students.

BSC professor co-writes mathematics textbook
Professor of Mathematics Dr. Bernadette Mullins, recently co-wrote the 11th edition of the classic text, Mathematics with Applications in the Management, Natural, and Social Sciences.

College to hold Honors Day Convocation on May 1
Birmingham-Southern alumna Lisa Glenn, director of programs at New Global Citizens in Tempe, Ariz., will draw upon her experiences in education and advocacy as the keynote speaker at the college's 2014 Honors Day Convocation on Thursday, May 1.

Book by BSC biologist wins environmental writing award
Birmingham-Southern professor Dr. R. Scot Duncan has won this year's Reed Environmental Writing Award from the Southern Environmental Law Center for his new book, Southern Wonder—Alabama's Surprising Biodiversity.
